In an effort to keep up with this trend, most libraries are now including manga as a part of the collection. For a librarian who is unfamiliar with manga, and its accompanying art form anime (Japanese cartoons), purchasing titles for the library can be difficult.

Thereof, do libraries get rid of books?

A public library will get rid of books that haven't circulated in several years unless they are classics, and so on. They'll also get rid of multiple copies or deteriorating copies. All professionally run libraries have written policies for what and when they discard.

Beside above, do libraries keep records? No. Due to privacy laws (at least in the US), libraries are not allowed to keep logs of what patrons have borrowed, checked out, or read. Many of our patrons wish that we could but my libraries are not able to do this at this time. Others might have the capability if they get the patrons okay to keep a record….
