Bishopbriggs is one of the better areas of Glasgow although it's actually over the boundary into East Dunbartonshire. Good area although parts of it can be fairly close to "less good areas". Couple of good golf courses. 5 minutes on the train to the City Centre.
Additionally, is Kilsyth a good place to live? Kilsyth is a lovely friendly place and has a local swimming pool, playgrounds and 3 supermarkets to do your shopping. We love living in Kilsyth.

Is Cumbernauld a good place to live?
Yes there's not a lot to do here but it's a decent place to live. So I wouldn't worry about it too much. However I would avoid Carbrain just in case you do walk into the bad part. If you're near the town centre you're a short walk from getting the X25 or X25a into Glasgow.
