Simply so, can you wear goggles when diving?
We need to get some clarification here — there is no such thing as a diving or snorkelling goggle. Goggles are used for skiing, swimming and sometimes flying and they are also used as safety eye wear in various work applications. They are not used for scuba diving, freediving, spearfishing or snorkelling — masks are.
Similarly, why do swimmers wear goggles? TO WEAR GOGGLES OR NOT TO WEAR GOGGLES… Swimming goggles are a necessary part of competitive swimmers equipment. It enables the swimmer to put their face in the water for several hours at a time without developing sore eyes and their vision is clear and not marbled when underneath the water.
Similarly, why are my goggles letting in water?
No matter how tight you make those goggles, if the piece between your eyes is too wide, water is going to leak in. Make sure they are secure over your eye sockets, there should be some light suction when they're on properly. If they don't fit right, then you need a different size.
Why can you not wear swimming goggles for scuba diving?
A swimmer may use a mask, but a diver or snorkeler may not use swim goggles. Water is 800 times denser than air and when we go underwater in this denser environment, the weight of the water is going to affect the air spaces in both the goggles and the mask.
